Meet the Fleet

Cali
This gal has been here since the beginning. She's our go to for the little kiddos! Cali loves kids and prefers to hang out towards the back of the line. She is on the lower end of the hierarchy in the herd. She is a gentle horse, loves to work. She is a good choice for someone who is a total beginner and maybe a little nervous or anxious about the ride. She loves to splash in the water during the river ride. Cali is a mom to 2 of our horses Cisco and Maui. She is such a good mama!

Nora
Our gentle, sweet soul Nora was a rescue who we adopted that was skin and bones. We still can't believe how much she has changed since being here at Posh Canyon Trail Rides. She is a thick girl now! She has taken a blind man on a ride before. She is a good choice for a total beginner and someone who wants to just sit back and enjoy the ride. She prefers being in the middle of the line. If you're having a bad day, Nora is the one who will cheer you up. She has a positive aura about her.

Freckles: In loving Memory
What a cool story Freckles has. She use to be a wild horse, then became a pack horse for hunting, and now she's living her best life as a trail horse. She is one who likes to snack during the ride and will walk into branches when you're not paying attention. She is a funny girl and you might consider her the stubborn one. She is the leader of the herd and is best friends with Scout. She is bold and brave. She is sure footed and can climb like a goat. She loves all people and ages but is very fond of men.

Scout
If you want a horse who prefers to be towards the front of the line, Scout's your best pick! She is the adventurous type and loves her job. Scout has done some barrel racing in her free time. She loves to swim and splash in the river. She acts kind of like a dog and has a loyal personality. She tends to snack and do snatch and grabs off the bushes but is a good girl. She is very fond of Freckles and Skippa. Brite and Skippa are her sisters and they are all from South Dakota.

Skippa
One of the wrangler's main mounts is Skippa. Skippa is from South Dakota and is Scout's sister. She has a body of steel and wants to work. She is more of the serious type when it comes to her job and she is working on her bravery. She loves the water during our river rides. She is sure footed and careful where she steps. Skippa likes to be the mediator and keeps everyone in the herd in check.

Ritzy
We are thankful and blessed to have Ritzy here with us. She almost didn't make it into the world. Posh, the horse who started it all, was her mother and Ritzy was named after her. It's a synonym to Posh. Ritzy looks like her Dad but has the same personality as her Mom; a cuddler, a cheerer upper, goofy, loving, a "gentle giant". We see so much of Posh in her. Ritzy prefers the back of the line and takes her time. She loves taking in the environment and observing everything around her. She is a good choice for someone who wants time to think and breathe in the nature.

Cisco
Meet the owner of Posh Canyon Trail Rides main mount. This is Cisco, son of Cali. He is mistaken a lot for Posh's baby because of his markings and the white "bald" face he has. He is not only a trail horse, but also a fancy show horse! He does reined cow horse work. He loves chasing cows. Cisco is a sweetheart but also a big goof. He will take things out of your pockets and try to take your hat off your head. In his free time he is a playful boy and a social butterfly. You will see Cisco quite often on the trail rides!

Brite
Every stable has to have a buckskin! Meet Brite, also from South Dakota. She is Scout's sister. They have the same Mom. She is not related to Skippa. Brite is currently training under saddle but you might start seeing her on the trail rides soon! She is an introvert but when she gets to know you, she's a cuddler and loves to rest her head in your lap. She can cheer you up on a bad day. She loves grooming sessions and baths and loves one on one time with her favorite humans.

Hope
You might think she's albino but this color is called cremello! We get that question all the time. Meet Hope, she is a hard shell to crack. She is still young, not under saddle yet. She is from Oklahoma and has a very unique personality. She is more of the reactive type which we believe she will grow out of once she starts training more. She is very particular with the people she trusts. She is fiery and spirited and she might end up being the fastest horse at the stable. She currently outruns everyone else in the herd when they are in turn out playing. We can't wait to see what Hope will blossom into.

Maui
Mysterious, reserved, but slick, Maui is a very interesting horse. He is still going through self-discovery. He's a young guy, same age as Hope. He's suave and a smart guy; wise and curious. We look forward to seeing what he becomes! He is a son of Cali. He has a crush on Ritzy and is best friends with Hope. Maui will likely be a show horse one day but may end up being part of the trail fleet as well. We shall see.

The Owner Of Posh Canyon Trail Rides, Kendra
Kendra has been riding since she was 8yrs old and horses have been in her life ever since. Her first horse's name was Apache and shortly after she got her dream paint horse, Posh. She personally owns all the horses in the Posh Canyon fleet. Other hobbies of hers include photography, ATV riding, gaming, and bowling. She loves to travel with her significant other and explore new places with him. Sometimes they'll bring their horses with them.
Thank you for Supporting the Posh Canyon Fleet

In Loving Memory

"The one who started it all"
1-12-2000 to 7-29-2021
My name was Posh. I was a huge hit at Posh Canyon Trail Rides for the first few years we started our business. Unfortunately due to a horrific accident (while I was pregnant with my daughter Ritzy) I went through a year of trying to overcome a terrible injury and infection. I was on pain meds for 5 months and antibiotics for over 3 months. I couldn't fight any longer. I was able to bring Ritzy into this world to allow my legacy to live on... I wish I didn't have to leave so soon. I had to leave her orphaned at 3 months old. She has the heart and fight that I had my whole life... I was a leader; tough and strong. I was kind and loving with a soft heart. I loved being a mama. I had 4 daughters and 1 son during my lifetime.
I loved giving kisses when you put your hand out. If you ever had apple sauce you had to share it because applesauce was my favorite snack… I loved sharing snacks. I also loved carrots and sugar cubes. I taught so many students how to ride and it was a job I loved. I loved going on the trail rides, especially when we went to the river. Every time we went to the river I would roll in it, even if a person was on me so Kendra had to warn people not to take me too far in the water or they would be in for a surprise and would get dunked! I made a lot of people laugh with my quirks. I wasn't perfect, but I was loved by so many.

I was the original, the mascot, and the one who started it all. Our logo is a reflection of me. The future is bright. I hope Ritzy, my daughter, will honor me and let my legacy live on. I miss you all so much. I am gone, but forever in your hearts.
